atftp seems to be abandonded.  http://freshmeat.net/projects/tftp-hpa/
might be a better starting point.

Also, it looked like there was some progress getting into jumpstart
though using the multiboot loader that is part of pxelinux.  See this

I know that pxelinux can load very large files.  I'm not sure what
pxegrub's limits are.
