i dont know man maybe mad_beast is right , maybe its just vista....people get it to work well on vista but they usually have better graphics cards....did u try googling it and searching for tweaks??if that dint help a dual boot might be the only other option...lots of games just suck on vista doom 3 runs almost 10-20fps lower on average maybe its something like that..
