Yes, windows 7 is worth it just for being windows 7 lol but in all
seriousness you would defiantly notice a peformance increase once you start
using the modded driver due to their vast superiority over the vanilla
drivers from intel. However it should be noted that some games refuse to run
correctly under windows 7 and you may get bad performance in these games
(sorry, I can't remember what ones they were). Also due to compatibility
issues some older games may not work properly on windows 7but there are
heaps of guides out there to help you get a specific game working. All in
all though windows 7 is a superiour OS in nearly all ways to Windows XP and
the modded drivers are superiour in every way to the originals from intel
(somewhere in the 300% to 400% range), it would we a wise choice, I swapped
from Xp to 7 and I loved it and only thing I regret is forgeting to write
down all my program names to find later lol.

Hey there! First off, I really appreciate the work that's going into
making these chipsets viable for gaming. Thanks so much! Anywho,
looking around other posts, it seems as though there aren't any modded
965 drivers for Windows XP due to legal issues. In your opinion, would
I be better off with the latest Intel drivers and using XP, or would I
see better gaming performance if I switched to Windows 7 and used the
modded drivers?

Can I still use this "addreg" settings tweaker for various games even
without custom drivers?

I'm running a Core 2 Duo T5270 @ 1.40 Ghz w/ 2.00 Gb of RAM, and I'm
very prudent about which processes and services I allow Windows to
run. I'm not concerned that Windows 7 would perform less optimally due
to its requirements as an OS, I'm just curious if installing a brand
new OS over what I have now would be worth it for the modded drivers.
Thanks so much for your help!
