hmm, if im remembering it correctly, i have use some software long ago, but my modchip (which enables my PS2 to play cracked DVD and backup disk) have disabled the USB drive support...if i have time, i would mod it back for HDD update ^^,..looks like it's time for a spare HDD if i have some budget...
