Hmm, I remember the read error only when on XP without modded drivers, I don't recall seeing it on 7 with MD though.
As for the heapsize, if I recall correctly, either CS:S or TF2 (or both) had this command removed recently due to it not being needed anymore, or it was changed, idk, I remember seeing reference to it in an update though.
