For proper DVD menus navigation, you have to configure the keyboard to
your liking, as the mouse can interfere with regular playback
functions. You can always select directly the movie, audio and
subtitle languages instead of going through the menus. It plays 720
and 1080p like a champ :) But still regarding DVDs, powerdvd really is
the king on that domain, but since I don't play dvds anymore (either
other formats your backed them up), I don't have the need for it
anymore. Though their decoder is very nice, half of its power.
Forget DFX, uninstall it and never look back. I know you use
MediaMonkey because of it's library management features, which is
excellent, but I wouln't use it for playback. At least, last time I
checked it didn't support WASAPI. If you want a serious player (not
media manager), try foobar2000, and also check it's 18 step EQ :) But
be warned, it's a rather ugly player, compared to pretty ones like
wmp, winamp, etc. It's less pretty and more functional, though it can
be skinned to be more beautiful than any player out there ;) You could
manage your library with MediaMonkey, and playback with foobar.
