Painkiller's 7 years old now so I'm not exactly counting it as
current, I have no idea if Duke Nukem will live up to what it used to
be, and I don't know how Serious Sam 3: BFE will be. I haven't played
Timeshift, though

I just miss when levels were incredibly quick and enemies were
interesting, not Yet Another American Boogeyman With An AK-47. A
scattering of these games are fun, when they're done right, but... I
don't think anything's gonna compare to Unreal Tournament.
