They had no idea what I was talking about. Not surprising. Most customer service people at cell service providers don't have the knowledge to answer technical questions. You probably also wouldn't want to ask those same people how to reconfigure your WAP gateway, either. I'd suggest you call and see if you can either talk with a business rep, who usually has access to engineers, or ask to speak directly with a business engineer. My provider is US Cellular (USCC) and I've spoken many times with engineers regarding service issues and feature requests. > - I'd like to compile a list of cell phone providers that *do* provide this > capability. If you can get it, would you send me the name of your carrier? US Cellular I know that two years ago Cingular also offered it. > - What's the right name/technical name for this facility, so that people > can try to order it from their cell phone carrier? This might be part of the problem. For USCC, TAP paging is part of their unlimited text messaging product, and you wouldn't know it by reading any of their literature. Only by our request and talking to an engineer did our rep learn about the service. ____________________________________________________________________ List archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/intermapper-talk%40list.dartware.com/ To unsubscribe: send email to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] ____________________________________________________________________ List archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/intermapper-talk%40list.dartware.com/ To unsubscribe: send email to: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
