The port is half duplex. InterMapper does not query the duplex setting of the Ethernet interface. We use the duplex setting to specify how best to compute utilization, and InterMapper's notion of duplex is derived from the interface type. With Ethernet interfaces, this is not sufficient; we plan to query the duplex setting directly. Originally, InterMapper defaulted ethernet-csmacd interfaces to baseband. The change to default them to full-duplex occurred in the 4.5 timeframe.
