Well, I may have been one of those who wanted multiple probes on a single map
icon, but I am thinking now, that with the custom probe, I can code just about
all the SNMP stuff in.

Answers to your questions:

1) Maybe if I wanted to have both a SNMP custom probe, and some sort of command
line probe. In that case, I probably could not combine them into one probe
myself, thus maybe the need for 1 icon with multiple probe (but I can't think
of a reason to do this now).

2) Once again refers to answer to #1, where a custom or built in SNMP probe was
combined with other non SNMP probes such as a command line probe.

3) In our configuration, a single IP works, but if there was the ability to
attach different IP/Probes to a single map Icon, that could be useful (but I
would have to think more about where/when to do that).

4) Well poll all our device at the same poll interval - once per minute - no
plans to change this.

5) Having the ability to set different notifiers to different probes may be
very useful. But I think that can also be accomplished with custom SNMP probes
setting the correct alarm level, and only using certain levels for notification.

Folks:

I'd like to ask a few more questions re: multiple probes per icon. You can
respond to the list, or directly to me: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Thanks.

--------------------------------------------

1) Would you have a use for multiple probes in the same icon? Why is this
feature important to you?

2) What probes might you put together into a single icon? How many
different
combinations of probes might you create? (We'd love to have some concrete
examples.)

3) For your examples, would all the probes refer to the same IP address/DNS
name, or would certain probes test one address, while others would test a
different address?

4) For your examples, would all the probes be executed at the same poll
interval, or would you want certain probes to have their own poll interval?

5) For your examples, would one set of notifiers apply to the entire
collection,
or would you want certain probes to have their own set of notifiers?
