Is there host mode switch on your IOIO in the A position? In general, beware of cheap knockoffs. I've seen some that were manufactured with terrible quality. The SeeedStudio version is about the same cost with guaranteed excellent quality. They're also kind enough to share their revenue with the developer (me)...
