I have Ion3 running at home with OS X and three monitors. If works excellently and I am very happy!
Of all the behaviors you describe, Ion3 nicely satisfies all of them with one exception. I do not know if you can transfer a workspace from one monitor to another as I have never actually tried to. Anyone know if this is possible?
