I concur. I've been using ion2 with xinerama for a
while, and it works well. I can move windows between
workspaces on the two different monitors by clicking
the title bar and dragging to the other window.
the only thing I can't do is move focus from one
monitor to another without moving my mouse.
one minor problem is that the saved ion-workspaces
settings signals an error message on startx if I was
running X with dual-head before and then restarted
with single-head.
