Older versions of Ion did not support full screen mode apps unless they
completely overrode the window manager.

Some older versions indeed did have trouble, especially with .avi:s, but
1.0pre1-3.2.3 I have seems to work ok in windowed mode too. Even toggling
full screen mode switching using the 'f' key works perfectly. (Well, for
some reason it doesn't want to handle keys if the cursor isn't exactly
in the video window or the terminal isn't active.)

Just modify the winprops on the fly.
