I recently purchase a bicycle handle mount for my iPhone 5.

Among other things, I wanted to use the phone as a speedometer.

I downloaded a couple of apps from the App Store, and they seemed pretty accurate driving down the highway in my car.

I had a chance to try them out on my bike tonight, and both of them appear to be consistently inaccurate.

What I mean by this, is that the both seem to have me moving along at 10 MPH, as long as I was moving. I could be going slower, or faster and there really wasn't a change in speed.

And since both apps acted the same, I speculate that it probably isn't the apps fault, its probably my iPhone 5. Maybe this just isn't a good use case for the iPhone GPS.

Any comments appreciated.

Jerry
