Don't underestimate how differently people use the web. I cannot tell
you in how many usability tests I have seen users double click blue
underlined hyperlinks.

And, all gestures on the iPhone are new. Without such indications
(borders, icons), users will not know about dual finger scroll.

And, I agree Craig, this should be decided by Safari when the user
uses a single finger scroll, but alas, it is not.
