Thanks.  I will try to take care of this today.

Regarding the LOG_DAEMON fix... I suspected selling that change might be 
difficult.  I think the right thing to do is probably to make it a 
run-time configuration option, rather than change it in the source 
code.  I will write a patch and submit it for comment.
