just FYI:
NetBSD, FreeBSD and OpenBSD has been shipping with IPv6-ready
client resolvers quite a while (more than a year).
some of them supports EDNS0 (but not the fallback mechanism), some of
them does not. yes, you may be able to say that the install base
is still small, but "essentially no deployed resolvers" sounds
incorrect to me.
also, older version of BIND9 responds to multicast/anycast query by
mistake:-) anycast responses depend on the OS you run named on.
(don't remember the exact versions)
