(although this is probably an off-topic,) even the latest version of
BIND9 can respond to IPv4 multicasted queries and IPv6
multicasted/anycasted queries; it does not check the destination
address to prevent such queries. Whether or not we see replies to
such queries does not depend on the version of bind9, but on the
implementation of the underling kernel.
