Aside from the definition of "server-less" (though some people would
say the definition is the point...), this is IMO the most essential
point of this discussion.

this means a DNS server address (for name resolution) is one of the
very fundamental parts of the Internet communication where we'd like
to reduce dependencies as much as possible. Thus the server-less
solution.
So perhaps the question is: is a DNS server address that special? The
answer from the design team is "yes", but the answer from those making
objections (or doubts) in this discussion would be "not really".
If my view is correct, then I'm afraid we cannot reach a consensus,
which would probably mean we should reconsider the mechanism from the
scratch. In that case we'll have to start with (more primary)
requirements Bob raised:
