I think these issues are not related. To go or not to go with SL is an address architecture issue. Implications of this decision will affect applications. Not to go might lead us to conclude that we would need PI space but PI or not PI is more of a question for the a routing model than an addressing model.I too am more worried about PI addresses for sure. SLs are much wiser to support what I believe some want from SLs.
Going for PI space will give us problems in the current routing model but those should be solved there and not with the addressing architecture.
