But Ken, you managed to higlight my point completely about Irish male fencers completely disregarding females in the sport as anything they could consider a "body of fencers". I haven't done the math on all the comps for male participants in Irish competitions, I expect there is a larger continegent of UCD men in there. What about results ratio though? This would be a really interesting statistical project for anyone so inclined (and im not kidding). I certainly couldnt say for sure, but i believe that although there are fewer UCD girls competing out there, they are getting overall better results. (possibly cos of a small pool, so you would have to use standard deviation or summat). anyone want to prove me wrong?
