Hi Erick, You're right about IOS versions available for Cat 3550. My switch runs an EMI image. Since my message has been posted, I have been able to set up WCCP v2 working with my 3550 switch. For that, CacheFlow sent me a CacheOS pre-release version 4.2 that supports L2 so Cat 3550 supports only this.
I'm now working on another problem regarding CacheFlow. Our problem is that CA-6026 runs well during less than 15 minutes and then gets blocked. As a result we should restart it or re-configure WCCP redirection on the catalyst in order to re-initialize caching process. By analysing CF statistics, we have noticed that the number of HTTP/FTP clients was normally around 200 and then suddenly, we don't know why, this number reaches a pick at 2000 HTTP/FTP clients. As a result, the CacheFlow gets completely blocked as our Internet traffic. The only way we found to restart our Internet connexion was to restart the CacheFlow or to remove the cache from the network. We also can launch "no ip wccp web-cache redirect in" IOS command on Catalyst VLAN interface connecting the user LAN and then apply again the WCCP redirection in order to restart caching process. This problem occurs with transparent caching or WCCPv2. We have decided to try to configure our CacheFlow for running WCCPv2 as suggested by CacheFlow support and by our resellers in order to remove this bug. I am testing this since monday night (only HTTP caching). The result is not better. The CacheFlow hangs with the same initial reason approximately every 15 minutes. Thanks for your help. Is this a EMI or SMI image your running? You are running the most recent version released according to CCO. I happen to have a few 3550s and some CacheFlows I can try to get working w/WCCP. Probably not exact model CF you have. Let me know the software version on the cacheflow. I'll see if I can find a few spare moments to set this up. You doing anything fancy with WCCP or just plain old wccp redirection and transparent caching on CF? When you say layer 2 redirection - what do you mean exactly? I'm aware you can do redirection with a route-map but that would be L3.
