This error has been seen before, the following steps should clear up the
problem. If not then contact [EMAIL PROTECTED] <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

Shut down all running programs.

1. Locate all versions of ATL.DLL file. There should be only one in
C:\WINNT\SYSTEM32. However, if there are others, you need to locate them as
well.
2. Open a command prompt and change to C:\WINNT\SYSTEM32 or the name of the
directory containing the ATL.DLL.
3. Unregister this DLL: regsvr32 /u atl.dll.
4. Delete or rename this and all versions of ATL.DLL.
5. Open the registry using REGEDIT or REGEDT32.
6. Verify that these registry entries do NOT exist:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ATL.Registrar
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{44EC053A-400F-11D0-9DCD-00A0C90391D3} If these
registry entries DO exist, then the unregister did not complete successfully
or the wrong version of the ATL.DLL was unregistered. In any event, it's
been my experience that sometimes the DLL will not register properly if
these registry entries are present, so delete them.
7. Re-boot the system.
8. Copy the ATL.DLL file from the console's installation image to the
WINNT\SYSTEM32 directory. ATL.DLL is available in the same location as the
console's SETUP.EXE.
9. Register this file: regsvr32 atl.dll
10. Note any errors.
11. Verify that these registry entries DO exist:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ATL.Registrar
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{44EC053A-400F-11D0-9DCD-00A0C90391D3} If these
entries are present, continue with the next step. If these entries are NOT
present, then there is an additional problem, possible with the registry
security. Contact the resident NT or network expert for further assistance.
12. Re-run the console setup (it shouldn't be necessary to uninstall it
first).
13. If the setup completes without error, go to Step 16 below:
14. If you again encounter the same "DLL Failed to Register" errors, open a
command-prompt, and change to the location where you installed the
RealSecure Console. By default this location is C:\Program
Files\ISS\RealSecure 3.1.
15. Register each DLL: regsvr32 actions.dll regsvr32 policydoc.dll regsvr32
rsassetdb.dll regsvr32 rspluginexplorer.dll regsvr32 rsplugin.dll regsvr32
rsactionpicker.dll Note any errors.
16. Start the console, and test the system to make sure the dlls registered
properly. Do this by viewing and customizing policies and access the on-line
and HTML help.

Subject: Real Secure Error, Need Help !

Dear All;

I have a problem installing Real Secure; and I hope you can help me to over
come this problem.

The configuration that I am using s/w and h/w as follow:

PIII 450, 128 MB Ram, 6 GB HD Compaq
WinNT4 server and SP4 as recommended
Real Secure 3.1
Internet Explorer 4

I was logon as administrator
There is no other software else installed

During the installation of of both the engine and the console I have
received the following error message:
'Unable to register the c:\program file\ISS\Real Secure 3.1\Action.dll'
'Unable to register the c:\program file\ISS\Real Secure 3.1\PolicyDoc.dll'
'Unable to register the c:\program file\ISS\Real Secure 3.1\RsAssetDb.dll'
'Unable to register the c:\program file\ISS\Real Secure
3.1\RSpluginExplorer.dll'
'Unable to register the c:\program file\ISS\Real Secure 3.1\RSPlugin.dll'
'Unable to register the c:\program file\ISS\Real Secure
3.1\RSActionPicker.dll'

The installer has replied that there is a problem in the installation,
however it will be resolved after restart the machine. BUT, after rebooting
the machine I received another error that say initializing of DLL
c:\winnt\system32\ociw32.dll failed. The process is terminating abnormally'.
If the error remained I have to consult read me file.

Surprisingly, I found the service is up and running. Also, I was able to run
the application. BUT, if I choose any action from the program menu, the
program terminated with no notice.

Please advise, and thank you in advance for your help and cooperation.
