This does not look right.
Just skimming the patch, I noticed that this patch undoes some of my changed to
the HBASE-14030, for example BackupSystemTable.java. Can you please revert
those changes.
In offline discussions, my big concern on the review side was HBASE-15443 and
HBASE-15442 and similar issues that touch the layout / file formats. Is there a
way we can extract these changes and push them to the HBASE-14030 patch?
Do you have a write up that summarizes the backup layout, backup image and
backup manifest contents? It is extremely important to get the backup file
layout and structures right, so such a document will definitely help others get
the overall picture. Also, we can see whether the new proposed layout plays
nicely with this format or not.
