[~syuanjiang] I took a look. HBASE-16786.master.010.patch removes it. This
looks to be around the time of your removal of old merge tool code. It looks
like a mistake on my part. Dang. I tried restore. It fails. Let me look more.
Let me file an issue to restore so don't forget. This merge code has to be
redone anyways for AMv2 so maybe later rather than sooner but let me file an
issue to restore.
