The mentioned plugin does not seem to be maintained at all anymore, is it? The
{{publishDate}} corresponds to the {{currentDate}}. Please note that I am not
talking about the {{PublishDate}} from {{DecorationModel}} but the attribute
added Velocity context.
The removal of preformatted values was my intention. The skin (view) shall do
it.
About Velocity's DateTool. It probably makes more sense than
{{SimpleDateFormat}} as it is more versatile. One could even drop
{{currentDate}} with that. That would actually mean that {{now}} wouldn't be a
point in time when {{$date}} would be called.
