But the only thing that changes is, that the button „modify“ gets a blue layer and remains with this blue layer. The color is applied to the text as an RGB value, not as an attribute. To get it to the new color, re-select it and apply the new color.“ I know that changing the color palett does not changed the choisen color (in field oder text). The problem is, that the PALETT is not changed. Not in any way! You write: „You may be used to other interaction styles on mac, but remember that AOO is 20 years old in its basic functionality. Maybe your expections are to modern for it…?“ No. My expection is to have simple program for the basic functions of writing, calculating, presentating and - at it’s best - data-basing. Once this was Apple Works. But Apple brought the „Apple Works“ at Version 6.2.9 to the graveyard. And started new with Pages, Numbers and Keynote for writing, calculation and presentating. Apple Works was, what we in Germany call (translated word by word) an eggs-laying-wool-milk-pig. With the last updates Pages as well as Numbers has not become better. The simplifications are cruel to the user. Once I was convinced of Apple and MacOS. But with a rising numbers of restrictive progresses in programs and operating system (Apple and Mac) I feel less and less „at home“ with Apple and Mac. With AOO you principely do the right. But AOO needs to work safe and reliable! (Soon I’ll discribe a very problematic bug in AOO-Writer.
