well, i can see how that would be the case if i was distributing
binaries, especially for windows. but given the entry barrier to using
mbsync from source, i think my target audience isn't affected much by
such "distractions".

yes, that's pretty nasty indeed.

i personally hope they go broke and some heavily funded organization
which is actually dedicated to oss picks up the pieces.
