Quite likely. On a 32 bit host, one single process cannot mmap more than 4GB (actually, less in practice). That's probably the reason for the "mmap: failed to allocate 1810592752 bytes for output file" error. Why do you install 12GB of RAM in a machine running a 32 bit OS?
