Hi Geoffroy,

As the image does not work on my PC, I tried on VMWare.
There, the result is much better : kernel starts, many systemd targets are
started (2 of them fails but I can't read fast enough to tell which ones),
finally, the window size changes and the screen becomes completely black. I
assume that it means that Wayland is started. I tried with and without 3D
acceleration and got the same result. If I knew the SSH username/password,
I could probably gather some more info. What is it ?

More generally, which hardware is supported ? My laptop and VMWare don't
seem to work. So what should I use ?

Best regards,

Hi Olivier,

Good to hear that you’re past that hurdle.

Can you confirm what hardware you’re building this for?

There was a similar issue reported on the tizen-dev mailing list earlier
this month, see:
https://lists.tizen.org/pipermail/dev/2015-January/005964.html. Is this
consistent with what you are seeing?

Thanks,
Geoffroy

Subject: Re: [IVI] tizen-distro : memory allocation error when
linkingcrosswalk

Dear all,

FYI, and as expected, the compilation of crosswalk succeeds when run on a
64-bit OS (an not on a 32-bit OS). Thank you.

But now, I have some trouble to start it (the Modello image).
- the kernel starts
- systemd starts
- systemd fails to start "Avahi", "the av system" and "Install Modello
applications"
- the system remains in text mode, with many error messages

I guess that the "Failed to start the av system" means that the kernel is
compiled without support for my graphics card or something like that.
Right ?

Best regards,

Quite likely. On a 32 bit host, one single process cannot mmap more than
4GB (actually, less in practice). That's probably the reason for the
"mmap: failed to allocate 1810592752 bytes for output file" error.

Why do you install 12GB of RAM in a machine running a 32 bit OS? I think
it does get used via tricks, but a 64 bit OS would be better.
