FYI - I have been using a PVR350 with DVB through MythTv and the latest development versions of ivtv for a little while now.

Although using the mpeg decoder for playback of content recorded from the PVR350 is excellent I haven't been able to use the mpeg decoder successfully with DVB content. However with the latest improvements in CPU utilisation for xv playback using xv for mythtv on the PVR350 is very usable for me (previously there were some audio syncronisation issues).

I do have some slight issues with the OSD being slightly flickery during playback and with the OSD frequently being placed incorrectly such that a large part of it is offscreen - which I'm not yet sure is a MythTv or ivtv problem

Sorry to interrupt this thread... I'm in the process of upgrading from ivtv 0.1.9 to 0.4 - a lot has changed in MythTV and ivtv, and Xv playback (via 350's tv-out) seems to be required, as above. Is there a resource I can read to further understand this issue? For help with this 'new' Xv playback - am I better off searching ivtv or mythtv list archives (so far, the results have been overwhelming)?
Thanks, for any tips, and the driver too!

Do you actually use DVB, and do you use video out using the PVR350?

Information wrt DVB playback probably can be best found on the Myth mailinglists. Use of the PVR350 mpeg decoder and/or Xv are two independent Myth settings.

I suggest that you first upgrade ivtv (driver + X11 driver) and get back to the list with concrete questions if any problems appear. Latest and greatest Xv functionality should then be available. After that adjustment of Myth settings remains (if necessary).
