Is this with the tuner or external input? - tuner is fine for me but the
external input only comes good after I have used the tuner at least once
during a session.

I've made some traces of write4 outputs to the cx25840 and apart from
0.4.0 (the last version that works for me) sending a lot of stuff twice, I
can't see what is triggering it unless its a register write that doesn't
use write4.
