I think I am having the same problem as Cameron in the "FC2 with PVR250 - No capture, only static" thread. As you can see below the module seems to be detecting the tuner type ok (50). And sets it ok (it doesn't complain about a patch needed). However when I try to tune to ch 3 (61.25Mhz) it seems out of phase.
I wrote a little shell script to do some fine tuning and found that 62.00Mhz will tune ch3 correctly, but it looks like crap (or maybe its just me). I will try to find somewhere to post my sample captures. Cameron, can you try tuning to 62.00Mhz to see if you get the same results? If you have ptune: /usr/lib/ivtv/ptune.pl --input /dev/video0 --frequency 62000 If you want to try my little script (I cant use scantv because it hardcodes the input name to "Television" and we use "Tuner 0", cut and past into a .sh file: ------------ #!/bin/sh freq=61990 #starting frequency delta=10 #increment in Hz i=0 while [ $i -lt 10 ] do freq=`expr $freq + $delta` /usr/lib/ivtv/ptune.pl --input /dev/video0 --frequency $freq sleep 5 #give mplayer time to catch up to current freq i=`expr $i + 1` done ------------ If you modify freq and delta you can do some simple fine tuning on the command line. Its no scantv, but it gets the job done. Since I only need to tune one channel, its all I need. thanks. -peter <reply-signature name="Peter Eacmen" email="[EMAIL PROTECTED]"/> -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Peter Eacmen Sent: Monday, December 06, 2004 10:53 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: [ivtv-devel] Tuning issue with new type 50 PVR-250 - help I have been following the MythTV howto on Jarod's site (http://wilsonet.com/mythtv/index.php) and I cannot get past this one issue. I have the tuner card connected to a digital cable box which broadcasts on channel 3. When I tune to channel 3 I can see some resemblance of what is being broadcasted, but it is way out of tune. The audio seems to be intact, but the video is all over the place. I've tried doing some fine tuning using ptune-ui, however it does not help. The composite input seems just fine, it is just the tv tuner that will not work. I am using the latest v4l binaries from atrpms.net.
