I'm gonna add a little more fuel to this fire ;) So after playing with this most of the day, I discovered something. My locking problem *only* happens in Myth in Live TV mode. If I record or I use mplayer to view the device, it works great.
Also, The video quality is just lousy. Before this card I had two PVR-250s and with the same cables and the same splitter the video is crisp and nice. I put the 500 in, hook it up, and the video is terrible. On tuner 1 there is even a high-pitched whine that I swear must rouse the dog upstairs because he's been barking since I got it working. I've tried direct cable into each source with no splitter, I've tried different quality cables, etc. It just seems to be bad. Could it be off on the frequencies or something just a hair? Not that I know what I'm talking about at all, so I'll just shut up ;) BTW, Jarod, I got it working fine with one of my 250s in the box. -Todd -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Jarod Wilson Sent: Tuesday, March 01, 2005 1:10 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [ivtv-devel] [PATCH] Working tveeprom for NTSC PVR-500MCE reads On Sunday 27 February 2005 19:15, Jason Knisley wrote: > Nope, actually, it's supposed to be on 0061. Tonight, I can't get *any* video off the 500's tuners with the v4l patches (but I do with the ivtv stuff). Meanwhile, the PVR-150 in the box works great with both setups. Ah, I just realized something... I think this is the first time I've tried the v4l-native parts with both cards in the box... Ugh. FWIW, I got 2-0061 for the tuner on the 150, 3-0060 for the first tuner on the 500 and 4-0061 for the second tuner on the 500. (There's also an Air2PC card in the box right now, I presume that snagged 1-00xx). I'd swear that with just the 500 in the box, 1-0060 and 2-0061 were working fine. Time to yank the other two cards again... > --- Todd Tidwell <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > I'm getting video on both video devices and from > > separate sources, so I know > > that works right.
