Great tip!

I have the same problem and this would get me a step further :-)

Personally I have no experience with MythTV, but it sounds to me like a registry setting is being changed or something. If I were you I'd write down all the register settings just after loading the module and compare those with the registry settings after MythTV has loaded. You can monitor the registers with the ivtvctl util.

Good luck

Hi All,

My system:
866 MHz PIII
256Mb ram
Mythtv 0.17
Kernel 2.6.11.5
SuSE 9.2

I am currently using the 0.3.2p version of the ivtv driver on my system. After installation with modprobe, I get a perfect video and sound with mplayer, when streaming from /dev/video0. If I then use mythtv, the picture sometimes has small rectangles with wrong color here and there (blocky picture), sound is ok. I know that there is not much cpu power available (about 10% idle), but I have reduced the bitrate in mythtv (cpu becomes 30-40% idle), but no result. If I then again use mplayer, it shows me the same corrupt picture as mythtv. I have to remove and insert the ivtv module to get it working again with mplayer.

Any ideas?

Thanks
Haukur.
