With the old BT848 chips I've captured macrovisioned video to preserve it and
it seemed to go just fine. The wintv/pvr and zoran cards seem not to like it
however. I didnt notice any flashses on the 848 captures but the video quality
was by then bad enough I might not have noticed
Sad but true. It's a personal copy of a tape I own though, darn it
all! Whatever happened to my fair use rights???
Besides, it was just an extremely poor tape; a different, known
protected cassette worked just fine, and this particular movie has been
worn the heck out by my kids.
