Shouldn't you also specify "--video-driver xv" for xine to use xv or else it uses x11 (similar to mplayer -vo xv/x11) ?

With the latest set of ivtv/X drivers, I found an unexplainable but notable improvement of Xv using xine over mplayer... I'm using these: DVD: xine -pfhq --no-splash -r 4:3 dvd:// other: xine -pfhq --no-splash <movie file> Cheers, Wilf. On 24/08/05, Ruud Huynen <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote:
Hello In the mailings I read XV is superior than X11. I tried all versions of xv but output has always been jerky. X11 looks allright. The PC is a 2.8Ghz, ivtv 0.3.7d, MPlayer 1.0pre7. VOBs are copied to disk. Commands used (with and without cach): - mplayer -vo xv -alang de -nocache -really-quiet -fs "$1" - mplayer -vo xv -alang de -cache 8192 -ao sdl -framedrop -really-quiet -fs -vf scale=720:-2,expand=720:576:::0 "$1" From reading the mplayer documentation http://mplayerhq.hu/~diego/DOCS/HTML/en/video.html#xv it explains: "It must support YUY2 packed, and YV12 planar pixel formats to be usable with MPlayer". When I issue xvinfo I can not find a YUY2 section. Is this one of the problems ? When your setup works, please send me your xvinfo output to compare. thanks Ruud ---------------------------------------------------------------- X-Video Extension version 2.2 screen #0 Adaptor #0: "PVR350" number of ports: 1 port base: 56 operations supported: PutImage supported visuals: depth 24, visualID 0x22 depth 24, visualID 0x23 depth 24, visualID 0x24 depth 24, visualID 0x25 number of attributes: 2 "XV_COLORKEY" (range 0 to 16777215) client settable attribute client gettable attribute (current value is 101) "XV_AUTOPAINT_COLORKEY" (range 0 to 1) client settable attribute client gettable attribute (current value is 0) maximum XvImage size: 768 x 576 Number of image formats: 1 id: 0x32315659 (YV12) guid: 59563132-0000-0010-8000-00aa00389b71 bits per pixel: 12 number of planes: 3 type: YUV (planar) ------------------------------------------------------- SF.Net email is Sponsored by the Better Software Conference & EXPO September 19-22, 2005 * San Francisco, CA * Development Lifecycle Practices Agile & Plan-Driven Development * Managing Projects & Teams * Testing & QA Security * Process Improvement & Measurement * http://www.sqe.com/bsce5sf _______________________________________________ ivtv-devel mailing list ivtv-devel@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/ivtv-devel
