I downloaded the trunk source but compilation failed at this command with a
whole slew of errors:

g++ -I/mnt/area1/ivtv/trunk/utils/../v4l-dvb/linux/include
-I/mnt/area1/ivtv/trunk/utils/../driver -D_GNU_SOURCE -O2 -Wall -g   -c -o
v4l2-ctl.o v4l2-ctl.cpp
