        Yes, I followed the "Obtaining and Installing the Firmware"
section of that guide, and the firmware appears to load without issue.

        I'm running Slackware, but have read both of those guides.  In
fact, I've tried to read every guide I could find to make sure I have
all my bases covered, to no avail :(

        I appreciate your help though, and anyone else who might have a
clue as to why I still can't capture despite "signal detected" messages
and fully loaded drivers.
