You should get the ivtv module when you set CONFIG_VIDEO_IVTV=m (Conexant cx23416/cx23415 MPEG encoder/decoder support). Make sure you have enabled CONFIG_EXPERIMENTAL (Prompt for development and/or incomplete code/drivers), else you can't select ivtv in the kernel config.
