I think I had to select the config option "Enable Video for Linux API  
1 (DEPRECATED)" before the ivtv option (i.e. the "Conexant cx23416/ 
cx23415 MPEG ..." config option) became visible.  That this is  
necessary is not obvious and it took me some digging around the  
Kconfig files before I discovered it.

I also selected the "Autoselect pertinent encoders/decoders and other  
helper..."  config option so that all dependent tuner modules, etc.,  
would be selected.  With those ivtv driver installs correctly and  
works under 2.6.26 for me.
