1. Are you using cable or an antenna? 2. Are you changing channels while a capture is ongoing or when it is stopped? 3. With the tuner, tuner-simple, and cx18 debug (info, debug, i2c, and mailbox) enabled, what is logged when you change channels and what is logged when you start a capture? 4. It is really odd that 8 & 7 are OK but 9-13 are not. They are all 6 MHz apart (i.e. adjacent channels) in the High VHF band (we don't do a tuner preseletor band switch to go from 7 to 13). Can you verify with random channel switch patterns: 34, 4, 16, 6, 8, 10, 45, etc. that it is consistently happening on channels 9 and above? 5. Is sound on the audio line in with Composite or SVideo always OK? 6. What does 'v4l2-ctl --log-status' report for staticy and non-staticy channels? 7. What happens if you chanel to the same staticy channel several times in succession? 8. What happens if you stop and restart the capture on the same channel several times? > I have a Hauppauge HVR-1600 with a Coax cable running directly to it. > I'm using ivtv-tune -c (channel) to tune. Just to clarify, the latest driver from the v4l-dvb repository, right? 9. With cx18 mailbox debugging turned on, does the driver load the APU & CPU firmware twice, reseting the APU after each load?
