Interesting conversation and responses. I'm a bit of a newbie here, but this is how I see the use case,
- I have a remote system with no physical access. - I need to be able to remotely bring up Jailhouse inmates. Although I've tested the configuration locally where I have control over the serial port the remote systems are slight variations, and therefore may require additional debugging. - If I can't get to a console interface there is no way for me to configure virtual networking interfaces as I can't access the system, so the idea of using something over SSH or other network solutions doesn't work. It doesn't seem like the options being suggested can support this model. I'm assuming that the idea of a full virtual console has been discussed in the past. Couldn't this be done using the shared memory interface, or is that not available early enough in the boot process to utilize it?
