That was a huge amount of text to read :-) you've bin very active the
last 24 hours in this topic!

The first thing that I must notice, is that even in this topic I had
difficulties with some terms! And that's the main problem for a
starter. To get to know all of the parameters.

Why people go over this book so easily ? Because they don't have to
know the internals, what happens under the hood.
It's the same as in school, you start at the surface, and begin
digging deeper.

Now is the question, do we want them to take a small step into
Jallib ? or do we want them to take the step which brings them 'all'
of the knowledge!

First case: an EZ library with parameters predefined. Main focus will
be on including the files you'll need, and not (as Bert did) including
all of the files you could "EVER" need.
Second case: no EZ libraries, all in plain JAL programming, with a
good explanation of all new/unknown steps that are taken.

For both cased the programs from the book should be reproduced.

You can see that in the second case, the learning curve is a whole lot
steeper.

I really want to help with this guide/tutorial/... but I'm affraid
that you guys know a bit too much :-) I could use some introduction
sessing to Jall. I really don't know yet what happens under the hood.

I could provide you with the original programs from the book (off
coarse not publicly visible) and do the easy jobs. I could try to
reproduce explanation in my own words (as a starter).

IMO, if they can reproduce all of the example project from the book in
the JALlib version, they had their introduction to JALlib and can
continue with it.

PS: some thing I'm working on now --> the conversion of a forum into a
project log :-)
Joep will know what this is all about: http://phalox.be/flux/viewtopic.php?id=1
:-D
