Again a huge amount of text... you guys sure know how to write text :- D But not much I have to say :-) The success of Bert's book:
In the first place people are attracted by the nice project's they'll be able to make! Let's call this the cover of the book, that you see at first sight. In second place you have the ease to accomplish these projects! You can do serial communication with just a few lines of code! It never looked more easy. For starters, this book gives you the feeling you can do it all! But what I think - and did not try yet - is when you finish the book, and try to go beyond, you bump into problems. This migrating guide should be the simple way to get to JALlib (LEARN how to use includes (what you don't really learn with Berts book)). This should be done with so called give_me_a_hand_over_here_to_fix_the_numbers. Next there's just one step to go further... remove those pre-config numbers and go JALlib-Style! It's just as in school. Start with the general idea, next start playing with numbers. Including these numbers could be somewhat of a problem... that's why we should keep step 1 just the same as Bert's projects. We could use the values he uses as the constants. If people want to start playing around with other components, they need to go to step 2... where they learn how to config it all! Well that was again my 2 cents :) Tomorrow I'm going to do some more work at my website... I want my blog/log up and running! --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "jallib" group.
