Perhaps a bootloader in JAL could be useful as a tutorial, and perhaps
be more readily understood by a wider audience.

I understand that it can't be generic.

Why not just wait and see what happens? I see no reason for trying to
squash the idea.  If you don't want to help, that is fine. But please,
don't pour cold water on it either.

In fact, its been done already -- Wouter's done a few, and there is
one for the USB cpus, already in the JALLIB.

I have plans to do a JAL bootloader for some of the CAN cpus.
