Where were you while this was discussed in Jallib and with issue 111
(Jan/Feb 2010)!
The main goal of the device files is to hide the differences between
PICs from the (function) libraries and thus make it possible to write
device independent libraries. In this case a few aliases were added to
the device files of baseline and midrange. I don't see how that would
'break' something.
