There was a testing period. This defect report missed it. And sometimes
there are bugs. Showstoppers are one thing. This doesn't qualify in my
view, but I'm not averse to a patch (hence the +0).

Same here. And for the same reasons you mention. And if Harmeet wants to
represent that NNTP "now works" based upon this patch, I am also willing to
change my vote.
