> If there are number of changes(as half a dozen protocol server regressions

Then why are they not documented against the current code? Are you aware of
a half dozen regressions in the code TODAY, or are you simply dredging up
the past? If there are regressions against the protocol TODAY, then please
DOCUMENT them as you have been asked to ever since you first raised this
issue.

No, this is the wrong attitude, Harmeet. You could have done more testing.
I, Serge and Danny could have done more testing. You do NOT point fingers
to chastise fellow contributors.

To the best of my awareness, the two people who did the most testing of
James v2.1.0 was myself and the person whom you keep fingering. And since
one doesn't take responsibility for failing by pointing a finger at someone
else, I apologize, personally, for having tested SMTP and POP3, but not
NNTP. The fact that no one even mentioned NNTP testing in the release plan
is an oversight that illustrates how little attention NNTP has gotten, which
is something WE need to correct if it is ever to escape experimental status.

Harmeet, I will not speak for all of the other Contributors, but unless I
very much miss my guess everyone will tell you the same thing. The project
can tolerate bugs. It cannot tolerate attacks. I don't think that the
message can be made any clearer than that. If you need to hear that
repeated by everyone, I think that can be arranged.

That isn't directly only at you, personally. It is a message for everyone.
Yes, there were some things said in recent weeks that should not have been
said. In private conversations, people have expressed sincere regret over
what was said in public. I don't need to share those discussions with you.
You were not party to them. The point is that the presence of improper
conduct on the mailing list is not a license to contribute more of it. What
we need to do is eliminate it, period.
